Automations
Send emails automatically when a reader takes a specific action — new subscriber welcome, inactivity re-engagement, and more.
Automations are emails triggered by reader actions or inactivity. Set them up once and they run in the background without manual intervention.
Available triggers
| Trigger | When it fires |
|---|---|
| New subscriber | When a reader completes a subscription payment |
| Segment entered | When a reader's segment changes (e.g. casual → regular) |
| Ad engaged | When a reader completes an ad view |
| Inactivity | When a subscriber hasn't visited in N days |

Recommended automations
Welcome email
Trigger: New subscriber
Delay: Immediate
Purpose: Thank the subscriber, remind them what they get, link to your best content
Re-engagement
Trigger: Inactivity (30 days)
Purpose: Remind dormant subscribers why they subscribed. Include a link to recent popular content
Upgrade prompt
Trigger: Segment entered (regular)
Purpose: When a reader becomes a regular, prompt them to subscribe — they've demonstrated enough engagement to be likely to convert
