Audience
Understand your reader segments, topics of interest, and monetization probability.
The Audience page gives you an aggregate view of who your readers are — without exposing individual reader identities.
Reader segments
OnePaywall classifies readers into four segments based on their engagement:
| Segment | Description |
|---|---|
| New | First or second visit to your site |
| Casual | Visits occasionally, low engagement |
| Regular | Returns frequently, reads multiple articles |
| Power user | High engagement, most likely to pay |
The segment distribution chart shows the breakdown of your current reader base across these segments.
Topic interests
Based on the URLs readers have visited, OnePaywall infers topic interest clusters (e.g. Finance, Technology, Politics, Sports). The audience page shows which topics are most popular across your reader base.
This helps you understand what content drives the most engaged readers — useful for editorial decisions and subscription offer copy.
Monetization probability
Each reader profile has a monetization probability score — the estimated likelihood that this reader will convert to a paid subscriber. The audience page shows the distribution of this score across your reader base.
A high concentration of readers in the 60–80% range is a strong signal to run a conversion promotion.
Privacy
Audience data is derived from anonymous fingerprints only. No PII is stored in reader profiles. The audience view shows aggregate distributions, not individual reader records.
