Article Unlock Pricing
Let readers pay once to access a single article — without a full subscription.
Article unlocks let readers pay a one-time fee for access to a specific URL. This is useful for casual readers who aren't ready to subscribe.
Setting up article unlock pricing
- Go to Dashboard → Pricing → Article Unlocks
- Set a default price — this applies to all URLs unless overridden
- Optionally, add per-URL prices for specific articles
Per-URL pricing
To set a different price for a specific article:
- Click Add URL price
- Enter the article URL (exact path, e.g.
/articles/my-premium-report) - Enter the price for that article
- Click Save
Per-URL prices override the default. Use them for high-value content like research reports or exclusive interviews.
Using article unlock in a gate
Add an Article unlock step to your gate (see Gate steps). When this step fires, the reader sees the unlock price for the current URL and can pay immediately.
After a successful payment, the unlock is stored against the reader's fingerprint. They don't pay again if they return to the same URL later.
Access duration
Article unlocks grant permanent access to the specific URL. There is no expiry — once unlocked, always unlocked.
Revenue from unlocks
Article unlock payments appear in Dashboard → Revenue and are included in the daily/monthly revenue totals on your analytics dashboard.
